HYKIT Unveils Mobile Hydrogen Refueller at JCB Headquarters
The future of clean construction equipment took another major step forward this week as HYKIT officially showcased its new Mobile Hydrogen Refueller!

The future of clean construction equipment took another major step forward this week as HYKIT officially showcased its new Mobile Hydrogen Refueller; the MHR – X75, during the JCB product press launch at JCB World Headquarters in Uttoxeter.
As the appointed JCB Dealer for the South West of England and South Wales, Holt JCB is proud to see JCB continuing to lead the industry’s transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable future through partnerships that deliver real-world hydrogen solutions for customers.
A Major Milestone for Hydrogen-Powered Construction Equipment
One of the biggest challenges facing hydrogen adoption across the construction and industrial sectors has not been the machinery itself, but the ability to refuel efficiently on-site.
That challenge is now being addressed with the launch of the HYKIT MHR – X75.
This fully integrated mobile hydrogen refuelling system combines hydrogen storage and dispensing into one trailer-mounted unit, allowing Operators to refuel JCB hydrogen-powered machinery directly on site without relying on permanent infrastructure.
The new refueller was previewed alongside JCB’s growing range of hydrogen powered machines at the high-profile press event in Uttoxeter, highlighting how hydrogen technology is rapidly becoming a practical, scalable alternative to diesel-powered equipment.
Fast, Flexible On-Site Refuelling
Designed specifically for demanding construction, industrial and mobility applications, the HYKIT MHR – X75 offers:
· Refuelling turnaround times of approximately10–15 minutes
· Total hydrogen storage capacity of 75kg
· Support for up to seven hydrogen-powered machines at once
· Trailer-mounted mobility for rapid deployment
· Real-time diagnostics and remote monitoring
· Integrated leak detection and emergency shut down systems
The unit has been engineered for use in active site environments and can be quickly set up using standard site equipment, helping contractors maintain productivity while reducing emissions.
Supporting the Full Hydrogen Ecosystem
At Holt JCB, we believe the success of hydrogen technology depends on more than just the machines themselves. Customers need confidence that a complete infrastructure solution exists to support daily operations.
That is why partnerships such as HYKIT are so important!
HYKIT, a joint venture between HYCAP, HydraB Group and JCB, is helping build the infrastructure required to make hydrogen-powered machinery a viable option across construction, plant hire, agriculture, industrial operations and power generation.
By combining hydrogen storage, compression and mobile refuelling capabilities, HYKIT is helping create a complete hydrogen ecosystem that can operate independently of fixed infrastructure.
JCB Leading the Way in Hydrogen Innovation
JCB continues to demonstrate global leadership in hydrogen combustion technology, investing heavily in the development of hydrogen-powered engines and machinery designed to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining the performance customers expect.
Seeing the HYKIT MHR – X75 showcased at JCB Headquarters reinforces how the industry is moving beyond concept technology and into practical deployment.
As a trusted JCB dealer, Holt JCB is excited to support customers as these technologies continue to evolve and become more widely available across the South West and South Wales.
The Future of Sustainable Construction Starts Here
Hydrogen has the potential to transform the construction industry by offering a zero-emission fuel alternative without compromising machine capability, uptime or productivity.
The launch of the HYKIT MHR – X75 is another significant step towards making hydrogen-powered construction equipment practical for real-world job sites.
Holt JCB looks forward to supporting JCB and its hydrogen partners as they continue delivering innovative solutions that help customers meet sustainability goals while powering the future of construction.
